Joseph T. Reichert-Director of Bands
Joseph is currently in his fifth year as Director of Bands at Adamson High School; moreover, in his nineteenth year of teaching music. Prior to relocating to Dallas, Texas, Joseph was a band director in Northern California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Joseph's bands in California have performed at Carnegie Hall, were Western Band Association finalists in 2006 and 2007 and Northern California Band Association Sweepstakes Champions in 2007. Joseph’s bands in Pennsylvania were also USSBA Group II and Group III Champions and also performed at the 2006 Sugar Bowl in Atlanta, GA.
Originally from Bayonne, New Jersey, Joseph received his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from New Jersey City University and his Master's degree in Percussion Performance from San Jose State University. Professionally, he has performed in New York City on Broadway on the musical Cats, and was a performer/board member for the San Jose Wind Symphony, and was principal percussionist for their 2009 MidWest Band and Orchestra Clinic performance. Joe has had the opportunity to perform with such jazz luminaries as Clark Terry, Slide Hampton, Sir Roland Hannah, Steve Turre, Phil Woods, Frank Foster Jimmy Heath and Bob Mintzer to name a few. As an active composer, Joseph has had his works performed in California as well as Texas and percussion compositions published at drumpus.com. Professional affiliations include TMEA, TBA, Vic Firth Education Team & ASCAP.
Joseph began his drum corps career in Bayonne, New Jersey with the Bayonne Kidets at eight years old. And later Joe performed with the Cadets of Bergen County. Joseph served on the percussion staff for the Cadets, the Raiders, the Hawthorne Caballeros as well as the Reading Buccaneers.
Joseph currently resides in Dallas , TX with his wife Veronica, daughter Celia and dogs Sasha, Jake and Cora.

Travis Ratliff- Assistant Director of Bands
Travis is in his first year at Adamson High School as Assistant Director, and in his fifth year overall. Prior to coming to Adamson, Travis spent two years at Splendora Junior High School in Splendora ISD in Houston, TX and two years at Calallen Middle School in Calallen ISD in Corpus Christi, TX. While at Calallen MS, Travis initiated a new jazz ensemble program.
Travis is a native of El Paso and Austin, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas, where he studied music education with a concentration in trombone. While at UNT, he was a member of the Concert and Symphonic bands, UNT Basketball Band & Green Brigade Marching Band under the director of Dr. Nicholas Williams, as well as various trombone choirs and small ensembles. Travis is also a brother in the music fraternity Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. During his time at UNT, he marched two years with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps from Santa Clara, CA as a lead baritone player.
Travis is excited to be back in the DFW area, and to begin his career at Adamson High School. Travis currently resides in Farmers Branch, TX with his girlfriend Courtney and his daughter Riley.
